The Hmong American Alliance Church (HAAC) was started in 1988, with a home group of about fifteen families. First, we began meeting in the basement of a group member. Later, we rented the facility of the Faith Alliance Church at 520 Howard Street, St. Paul, MN., as a place of worship. One year later, a church building located at 2329 17th Avenue East in North St. Paul, was purchased. That facility was used as our church home for fifteen years. Within those years our membership increased to 1,200 people.
The present property located at 2515 Maplewood Drive North in Maplewood was acquired in 2003. After nearly two years of renovation, the church relocated to this facility on December 4th, 2004. It is the largest Hmong church in the Twin Cities with seating capacity of 1,040.
The Hmong American Alliance Church is organized legally in the State of Minnesota and has the 501(c)(3) tax status from the Internal Revenue Services. It is an accredited church of the Hmong District of The Christian and Missionary Alliance.
